These terms explain the basis on which you may use comparebillsuk.co.uk. By using this site, you agree to these terms. Please also read our Privacy Notice and Cookie Policy, which form part of this agreement.
1. Who we are, and acceptance of these terms
Compare Bills UK (comparebillsuk.co.uk) is a free, impartial comparison service for UK household bills, covering energy, broadband, mobile, insurance, home alarms and card machine comparisons. By browsing this site or using the comparison forms on it, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the site.
2. The service we provide
Compare Bills UK helps you compare energy, broadband, mobile, insurance and home alarm options available in the UK, and provides an illustrative card machine fee estimate, introducing you to a supplier or, where relevant, an FCA-authorised, regulated insurance partner so you can get a quote or switch.
- For car, home and health insurance, and for home alarms, we are not yet connected to a live partner — these are shown as a waitlist you can join to be notified once comparisons are available. Once live, insurance quotes will be provided by our FCA-authorised, regulated partner through a co-branded, white-label form. We are not ourselves authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) unless stated otherwise on the relevant partner page, and we do not underwrite policies, give regulated financial advice, or act as an insurer or lender.
- For energy, broadband and mobile, comparisons are based on pricing and availability data drawn from supplier-submitted information, and are provided for information only. Final pricing, availability and contract terms are always confirmed directly with the supplier before you switch or sign up.
- For card machines, the fee estimate is illustrative only, calculated in your browser using indicative provider rates. It is not a quote from SumUp, Square, Zettle or any other provider, and your details are not shared with them for this purpose. Always confirm the exact rate directly with each provider.
Nothing on this site constitutes financial, legal or insurance advice. We present comparison information to help you make your own informed decision, and recommend you check the details of any tariff, plan or policy directly with the provider before committing.
3. Eligibility
This site is intended for consumers aged 18 or over, resident in the United Kingdom, comparing bills for their own household use. If you’re outside the UK or under 18, please don’t use the comparison forms on this site.
4. How we’re paid
Compare Bills UK is free to use. We’re paid by commission from the suppliers and partners we introduce you to, when you switch, sign up or take out a policy through this site. This commission does not affect the price you pay, and does not influence which options we show you as being the best match for your postcode and requirements.
5. Accuracy of information
We take care to keep the information on this site accurate and up to date, using supplier-submitted pricing and, for insurance, information provided by our FCA-authorised partner. However:
- Prices, tariffs and availability can change quickly, and figures shown on this site are indicative until confirmed by the supplier or partner.
- We don’t guarantee that every product available in the UK market is included in our comparisons.
- Any savings figures shown (for example, an average annual saving) are estimates based on switched customers over a stated period, and your own saving may be different.
Always check the final price, terms and cover details with the supplier or insurance partner before you commit.
6. Acceptable use of the site
You agree to use this site only for lawful purposes, and not to:
- Submit false, inaccurate or misleading information through our comparison forms;
- Attempt to access, scrape or copy the site’s content or underlying data other than for your own personal use;
- Attempt to interfere with the security or proper working of the site; or
- Use the site in any way that could damage, disable or impair it, or affect other users’ access to it.
We may suspend or restrict your access to the site if we reasonably believe you’ve breached these terms.
7. Intellectual property
The Compare Bills UK name, logo, design and the content on this site (excluding content owned by our partners or suppliers) belong to us or our licensors. You may view and print pages from this site for your own personal, non-commercial use, but may not otherwise copy, reproduce or republish any part of it without our permission.
8. Third-party partners and links
Where you proceed to get an insurance quote, you’ll be taken to a co-branded form provided by our FCA-authorised, regulated partner, and where you proceed with an energy, broadband or mobile switch, you may be taken to the relevant supplier’s own website. Those partners’ and suppliers’ own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of their services, and we’re not responsible for their content, availability or how they handle your data once you’ve left our co-branded form or been referred to them.
9. Liability
We provide this site and the comparison information on it «as is», and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, or from your reliance on any comparison, price or information shown on it, except where that loss or damage is caused by our negligence, or where the law does not allow us to exclude or limit our liability (for example, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud).
We’re not liable for the acts, omissions or performance of any supplier or FCA-regulated partner once you’ve chosen to proceed with them — your contract for the tariff, plan or policy itself is with that supplier or partner, not with us.
10. Complaints
If you have a complaint about this website or our service, please see our Complaints Procedure for how to get in touch and what happens next.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute relating to them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our service or in the law. The «Last updated» date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
